mona lisa smiles

Yesterday my friends and I were watching Mona Lisa Smiles I love this movie I think I seen it like ten times. But every single time that I watched it I learned something new or I get more of the movie. The art professor teaches conservative 50's Wellesley girls to question their societal roles played by Julia Roberts. Roberts makes her students to think outside their traditionally roles. All of the students portrayed by women that after graduating from best University in the nation at the time in the 50’s needed to be married and not to think about what else they could do with their life. My favorite part is when Betty Warren played by Kristen Dunst tell her best friend look what I got what I always wanted and she shows her Joan Brandwyn played by Julia Stiles a washer and a dryer. I can not believe girls my age at the time that’s what they always wanted I thinks that’s pretty funny good thing time has change for us. Other scene in the movie that I like is when they started talking about birth control very immoral to have and the teachers or nurses couldn’t promote birth control if women where to have been found with women condoms they where looked as sluts. I love movies like this cause makes me glad and thankful in the century that I live in although we as women are still fighting.
