In the book "Reading Lolita in Teheran" it is mentioned that at the biggest university in Iran (I forget the name) there were two entraces - one for men and the other for women. The women were searched before entry was permitted, and Western literature was confiscated; I don't know if the men were searched or not because the book was about the women.
Whenever I hear of things like this I think of the mona lisa smiles where the college is actually just to train girls on how to be a good wife and the stereo type that julia roberts character trys to break for these girls its funny but sad because I talk to people like my grandma and she says thats the way it was you biggest accomplishment was being a good wife.
Wow, i didnt know that women and men have different elevators. I know some culture have church that is sperated between men and women. But i never expected in an elevator...
That sounds like two separate restrooms, one for men and one for woman or even worse. It sounds like a private school [ex:All boys school, all girls school] Thats a strange public policy. I would die without integrating the two groups freely in public. Whats next after hearing this? Separate public transportation for men and woman?
